Fuel Tank Safety is critical, particularly for large and complex aircraft, and is recognized throughout the industry as vital for both the safety of the aircraft as well as for maintenance personnel on the ground. Two primary topics are included: First, as evidenced by the TWA Flight 800 explosion of 1996, is the critical importance of proper electrical wiring techniques nearby or within fuel tanks. Second are the physical hazards to personnel when tasked to perform maintenance inside of large tanks. This course presents each of these topics at the required familiarization levels for maintenance personnel including the extensive use of graphics, animations, and audio narration built into multiple short 1-2 minute segments. Its format is a narrated Powerpoint presentation with animation, video and text divided into 1-2 minute segments. A chapter quiz following each section and a final exam concludes the course.
