My application was connecting my David-Clarke aviation headset to a Yaesu VX7 ham radio. It worked perfectly.

Works as advertised. It’s a wire, what else can I say.
This is a good product but a poor radio design. The adapter from Aircraft Spruce is fine, but when in use, the radio design causes the wires to be under stress in use. Ive gone through 2 adapters already, but its not the fault of Spruce. and I can use mine with our without a PTT switch. I choose to use one for convenience, but its not necessary.
A previous poster said you need an external PTT button... not true. I have the FTA-230, and the PTT button on the radio works it just fine. Now I have a PTT button sitting around.
Item works very well with both the 220 and 230 radios from Yaesu. Like the screw in adaptor for the radio so it wont vibrate loose in flight. Works well with my Comtronic helmets and headsets.
You need a push to talk button in line with the headset otherwise the unit will start transmitting as soon as you plug a headset into it. Its in the manual that is available on the transceiver page. I have to rate this one star since is doesnt work with out the PTT switch with is not offered.

When this headset adapter is connected to your transceiver you can listen through your aviation headset instead of the radio. This can also be used in conjunction with an external push to talk switch.
You can use part number 11-07712 for a PTT switch.
