Reviews

I have purchased the XHUD1000 and XGPS 190 I am very impressed of what Dual has accomplished here. In combination with the XPS 190 you have a stand alone system displaying all the information you need to operate an airplane safely. In the mirror mode you can display the information from your ( iphone/android ) screen. I have tested the synvis screen from the Garmin pilot app and during the approach I displayed the approach charts nicely in front of me. Works as advertised. The app is straightforward. Great product !!

Great for traffic and as a traditional HUD. I use mine with Foreflight and the screen is very grainy and it’s difficult to read words that are very legible on an iPad. Setup takes some work but once it’s up you are all set to go.

Q: Does this unit work with the Garmin GDL 52 and/or Garmin Pilot? FltPlan Go App?

This is not compatible with the GDL52 or Garmin pilot, however it will work with other EFB apps such as Foreflight

Q: Is this compatible with Dynons AHRS and ADS-B?

Per the product description: Compatible with Dual XGPS190, Stratus 3 for AHRS & Traffic modes, XGPS170/170D for Traffic mode

Q: Can it read AHRS and ADSB data from Opensource Stratux Adan In receivers?

Yes, this is compatible with the Stratux unit.

Q: Can it get AHRS and ADSB data from foreflight? What information does it share with EFB apps??

Foreflight cannot be used with Stratus 3 when HUD is connected, unless HUD is in Tablet Graphics mode.

Q: Does XHUD1000 work with GRT Avionics SPORT EX EFIS ?

No it will not interface with that system.

Q: Is XHUD 1000 a stand alone device or it needs an AHRS to piggyback on to receive the info and display it?

It requires a receiver such as the XGPS190 p/n: 11-14334.

Q: Is the unit compatible with the Garmin Flightstream 210?

No, this is not compatible with that unit.

Q: Will the Flightstream 210 support the tablet graphics mode ?

Per Dual: We are unsure of this question since the 210 is just a gateway that pulls data to and from another device (e.g. Garmin Pilot or Foreflight)

Q: Is it possible to mirror images from the Garmin Pilot app (not using an external GPS / ADSB receiver)?

Per Dual: The XHUD1000 can display any iPad / iPhone image, without the need for a GPS/ADS-B receiver. So those apps, including the Garmin app, can be displayed on the HUD.

Q: Is a replacement glass screen available?

No, we do not sell replacement parts for these displays.
