Overview

The Model M-7A is an Electret, noise-cancelling microphone designed to operate in place of carbon and amplified dynamic microphones. Provides clear, crisp voice transmission. It will not operate in circuits that do not supply a DC bias voltage. Most modern aviation communications equipment do supply this required voltage. If unsure, consult with your radio technical manual or with your local avionics shop.

The microphone is designed and constructed from quality durable high strength ABS plastic as well as corrosion resistant metals meeting or exceeding the environmental, durability and interchangeability requirements of RTCA/DO-214.

Q: Hello, I have a headset with a M4 mic, would the David Clark Electret MIC M-7A be compatible?

The David Clark Electret MIC M-7A is a suitable replacement for David Clark Mic M-7A and M4 Microphones.

Q: This microphone doesn't appear to have the same mounting brackets as the M4 microphone. How is it mounted on the headset?

This microphone is designed for the M-7. For the M-4, please see part number 11-06558.

Q: Is the M-7A mic the right part for a H10-13S David Clark headset?

Yes, per David Clark the M-7A microphone is appropriate for the H10-13S headset.

Q: Does the David Clark M-7A mic come with its screws?

The set screws are already inserted in the mic. There is also an allen wrench included.

Q: Is the M-7A mic the right part for a H10-76 David Clark headset?

The H10-76 is a low impedance headset and uses the M-87 mic for low impedance.

The M-7A mic can be used with the H10-76 but is a high impedance mic for Civilian radio systems.

Q: Can it be used to convert an H10-30 to electret noise canceling microphone?

No, this will not convert the headset to ANR.
