These universal spring loaded latches are designed for aircraft canopies, cockpit doors, and baggage doors. They are available in right hand and left hand models with different striker angle lock pins on the two models. These latches work great on a wide variety of experimental aircraft. These latches are beautifully manufactured to a very high quality fit, finish, and function. The main body appears to be machined from billet aluminum and gold anodized (which doesnt show in the photo). Well worth the price!
The cost for the Universal Spring Loaed latch is too much $$$$

Yes, the extended length is 3-3/8". The pin diameter is 3/8".
