Safety Foot Stop is similar to a doorstop, linked to the seat lever by a mechanical arm arrangement. Lifting the seat lever to allow the maximum up position and with a light rock forward will disengage the Safety Foot thereby allowing the seat to be positioned as required. Releasing the seat lever to its lowest position will re-engage the Safety Foot.
The FAA has issued a "No Hazard Installation Approval" for this system since it will augment safety only, and is not considered part of the airframe or engine so it doesn't require a "337" or an STC, therefore it can be Owner/Operator installed. The system will in no way eliminate the requirement for good rails and pins, it just provides an additional measure of safety in single engine Cessna aircraft.
The Safety Foot Stop is currently under Patent Applied For. The Safety Foot Stop kit comes complete with all required hardware and detailed instructions. The average installation time is approximately one hour per seat. |
